Renaissance Bernard is a multimedia artist from Gaithersburg, Maryland. His work is composed of drawings, paintings, collages and screenprints. Bernard's work confronts issues of race, social injustice and police brutality through the representation of cartoons. He often integrates elements of African American history and culture throughout his work. He studied both Drawing and Painting at the Cleveland Institute of Art earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2021. His work has been exhibited at the Ann and Norman Roulet Student + Alumni Gallery in Cleveland (OH) and the Montpelier Art Center in Laurel (MD). Bernard was awarded the Mary Suggett Ranney Scholarship in both 2019 and 2020. He currently resides in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
